This video highlights the last operating season of the Cass Scenic Railroad under the auspices of the State of West Virginia. At the time this documentary was filmed, the Cass Scenic Railroad was undergoing a major management transition. It was decided within the State of West Virginia that the railroad would be better suited under the management of a private corporation. In 2015, the Durbin and Greenbrier Railroad will have assumed operations of the Cass Scenic Railroad. Many of the employees of the State of West Virginia that were involved with Cass and this documentary will be transferred to different departments, or will be given the option to stay with the new management company.
